SHIPP FAMILY CEMETERY

Located near Jonesville, KY

Hart County, Kentucky

LOCATION:  About 1.3 miles north of Jonesville, KY on US Hwy 31E, turn west (left) onto Tampa Branch Road.  The cemetery is on the left across the road from the second house on Tampa Branch Road.  Visitors are welcome; permission is expected.

COMMENTS:  As copied by Judge Cann.  Also researched by Beatrice Lampkin and Anna Mae Higgason in 1973.  Cemetery was noted as being in very poor condition – stones broken, and covered in underbrush.

There is rumored to have been an old slave cemetery nearby, although, as far as is known, there is no proof, no documentation, and no existing grave stones.
