Wheeler Cemetery

Canmer, Hart County, Kentucky

DIRECTIONS:  From Hwy 31E in Canmer, turn East onto Defries Road (Hwy 677) and travel 1.8 miles.  Then turn left onto Davis Bend Road for 1.4 miles.  Take a left onto Sims Cemetery Road and continue approximately 0.3 miles to a locked gate across the road.  The Cemetery is at the end of this road on the left.

COMMENTS:  This cemetery is located on a portion of the 1,000 acre land grant received by Jonathan Clark in payment for his service in the Revolutionary War. This property is currently owned by Bruce Cohen and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Pearce-Wheeler Farm, one of only 13 sites so honored in all of Hart County.  The cemetery is well maintained by Henry Wheeler.
