HORSE CAVE - Funeral services for Solon Lee Thomas Sr. will be today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home, with burial in the Cub Run Cemetery.

Mr. Thomas died Sunday, July 10, 2005, at the Caverna Memorial Hospital. He was 61.

He was born in Park City on Jan. 10, 1944. He was a son of the late Jesse Thomas and Kathleen Childress Thomas, who survives. He was a mechanic and a member of the Three Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, survivors include four sons: Terrill Thomas, Solon Thomas Jr. and Calon Thomas, all of Horse Cave, and Kevin Thomas of Munfordville; one daughter: Janet Meredith of Horse Cave; one sister: Nora Jean Gardner of Munfordville; and six grandchildren.

Larry Norman Hawkins , age 57 of Horse Cave passed away at 6:20 a.m. Friday December 15, 2006 at his home. He was a native of Metcalfe County, a former Assistant Fire Chief of the North Metcalfe Fire Department , and a former Deputy Sheriff of Metcalfe County. He was a former employee of the Sealtest, Flavor Rich, Southern Belle and Dean's Milk Companies and Bale Oil Company. He was a son of the late Paul and Lizzie Atwell Hawkins of Center, Kentucky.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday December 18, 2006 in the Chapel of Winn Funeral Home in Horse Cave.

Visitation at the Funeral Home from 6 until 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday.His Casket will be taken to the Center Cemetery on the North Metcalfe Fire Department Truck for burial.

His Step-Grandchildren: Jessica Withers, Zac Thomas, Maci and Leah Thomas, Jacob Thomas and Matthew Meredith.
