Jenrose Sturgeon, age 88, Mount Washington, KY, formerly of Hart County, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at the Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, KY. She was the wife of the late John Lawrence “JL” Sturgeon.  She was a talented, devoted homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Mount Washington, KY.  She was also a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Order of the Amaranth.

Jenrose is survived by her children, Linda Mae Tazelaar and Vanessa Rose Pierani (David) both of Mount Washington, KY, James Allen Sturgeon (Joyce) of Brooks, KY, and Christy Porter (Noah) of Hardyville, KY; and her daughter-in-law, Joanne Sturgeon of Shepherdsville, KY.  She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Jenrose was preceded in death by her parents, James Wilkerson Jones and Nora Close Jones; a son, John Lawrence Sturgeon, Jr.; and a grandson, Justin Allen Cantrell.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. ET, on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, and from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. ET on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Mount Washington, KY.  The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. ET at the church on Wednesday, with Bro. Robbie Fairley and Bro. Rick Ralston officiating.  Interment will follow at Pearl Webb Cemetery in Canmer, KY.  Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
